This morning i disconnected the battery and cleared all old fault codes. I know this worked as a few old codes dissapeared. I have a cel for- P0400 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected This code has been there for a long while. This new code has only just appeared- P0234 - Boost Pressure Control Circuit Negative Deviation. This is a strange one as i have cleared all old codes and only run the car on tickover since the reset, no turbo calls whatsoever. I have run a snapshot on the diagnostic software i have and was hoping that one of the forum techies could browse over it to see if any obvious errors in the readout. The car btw is a 2005 9-3 aero sport 8v 120bhp. Remove the EGR and take a look, it's probably clogged. Give it a good clean out with some carb cleaner and replace the gasket with the Fiat one. Until the TTiD's came along all Aero's were petrol engined. Sure is, I was presuming that the 8v is in the same place as the 16v but it gets really clogged up. You need to be careful how you do it though as you can damage them. Lot's of carb cleaner and careful hand with an old toothbrush. Worth a look. Paul Yes it is interesting reading and the previous owner obviously read it, i checked the valve and it was clean-ish. The thing is i dont want to buy any part i may not need but i will buy a new egr once i have solved the overboost probs. Anyhow, regarding the other answers. The boost sensor, is that the vacuum actuated device on the radiator panel at the front? or where, i cant see anything 5" to the left of the egr. The dpf, i thought cleaned itself, how can i manually clean it, btw i just done a 20 mile motorway trip in third gear @ 3500 revs to encourage a regen, does a 120bhp have the regen process.
