Options Steve McF View Member Profile 15 Oct 2004, 22:19 Post #1 Motor Mouth Group: Members Posts: 2,088 Joined: 14-September 03 From: Leamington Spa, Warwickshire Member No.: 16,982 Location:Warwickshire My wifes Rover 25 came with these fitted as standard when we bought the car in March/April '02.After a tracking problem wore the front tyres unevenly, I had to get them replaced, and ended up putting Conti PremiumContacts on.However the two rear tyres are still original Dunlops. The car has only done 21,000 miles, but the two Dunlop tyres look rather weathered, with light cracking appearing on the shoulders and in between the tread blocks.The 6 year old tyres on the front of my 9-5 are marginally worse in condition (Conti EcoContact and Michelin Pilot), but they are more than twice the age.So is there something inferior in the rubber compound used for Dunlop SP Sport tyres, and has anyone else noticed this apparent premature aging of these tyres??(The tread depth is not an issue, as the wear is good.)
